7:00-8:00 PM: Music by the Susquehanna Travellers on the grounds of the John Wright Restaurant, Wrightsville, PA
8:00 PM: Opening Ceremony
8:30-9:30 PM Music by the Susquehanna Travellers
9:30 PM “Flames Across the Susquehanna,” the burning of the braziers atop the abandoned bridge piers (raindate: June 29)
10:00 PM Fireworks
Saturday, June 29th: Military Ball for re-enactors with music by the 77th NY Regimental Balladeers.
Sunday, June 30, 2013: Closing Ceremony at the United Methodist Church, Walnut Street at Route 462, with a community chorus directed by Chuck Williams at 7 PM.
Columbia Historic Preservation Society (CHiPS): 9 AM-4 PM
Saturday, June 29th, 2013:
A production of the Underground Railroad History, “Emancipation of Slavery,” will be re-enacted, featuring famous African-Americans of Columbia. The location will be outside the Reading & Columbia Railroad Freight Station where at one time slaves would be put on trains to Canada to seek freedom. Hear songs and praises of freedom! Productions will take place throughout the day between 9 AM – 4 PM.
11:00 AM and 1:00 PM: Glenn Banner will present a lecture about his book “Flames Across the Susquehanna” at CHiPS, 19 North Second Street.
3:00 Randolph Harris will speak on the Underground Railroad at CHiPS.
Civil War relics and historic documents of the bridge burning will be on display at CHiPS.
Columbia artist Carol A. Snyder will be signing her prints in the Civil War Kid’s Camp area from 1-3 PM in the pavilion.
The Commemorative Postal Cancellation for Columbia will be available at CHiPS from 9 AM-noon and at the Columbia Post Office from 9 AM- noon as well. The envelope with cancellation stamp costs $3., or you can bring your own envelope to get stamped for 46 cents. A commemorative cancellation for Wrightsville is available at the Wrightsville Museum and The Wrightsville Post Office from 9 AM – noon. Stop by both locations to get both versions.
Camp Case Encampment and the Civil War Hospital will be located at the Columbia River Park north of the Route 462 Bridge. This is located where the original area soldiers and citizens teamed up to stop the Confederacy from advancement. The Patriot Daughters of Lancaster will also be on hand to demonstrate how care was provided for wounded Columbians during the Civil War. Look for Abraham Lincoln, Thaddeus Stevens, Lydia Smith, 45th PA, 54th Mass., 3rd PA, 87 PA, The Fencible, Invalid Corp., and other local historic figures throughout Columbia.

12:00 PM: Cemetery Tours in the Fairview Cemetery and at 4:00 PM at the Union and Mt. Pisgah Cemeteries
2:00 PM: Wrightsville River Front Tour
